Get up

1.起來

如果你坐著或躺著，然後有人說"Get up"，他表示要你站起來（從地板上起來、從椅子上起來）

例：He got up with a stretch and a yawn .

　　（他起了床，伸個懶腰並打個呵欠。）

2.特別著裝

例：She was got up as an Indian princess .   

　　（她被打扮成了印度公主。）

3."getup"當名詞則是代表你身上穿的東西

例： "Nice getup" 意思是我喜歡你的裝扮、衣服很好看

Get down

1.趴下

例："Get down!" she yelled. "Somebody's shooting!"

　　（“趴下！”她大聲喊道，“有人開槍！”）

2.記下, 錄下, 寫下

例：Please get down what he says .   

　　（請把他的話記下。）

3.（使）沮喪

例：The continual wet weather is getting me down.   

　　（持續的潮濕天氣使我沮喪。）

4.（費力地）咽下， 吞下

例：She couldn ' t get the medicine down .   

　　（那藥她咽不下去。）

Get away

1. 離開

例：It's probably done you good to get away for a few hours.

　　（離開幾小時或許對你有好處。）

2. 去旅行

例：He is too busy to get away.

　　（他忙得沒有時間去度假。）

3.（使）逃跑；（使）逃脱

例：I wanted to get her away to somewhere safe.

　　（我想帶她逃到一個安全的地方。）

Get over

1.越過一個實物

  例：You get over the wall.

         （你越過一道牆。）

2.克服

　不一定要是實體的牆，也可以是一個問題或一個難關

　例：When you have a problem, get over it.

  　　（ 所以當你有困難，克服它。）

Get off

1.動身出發

  例：We got off immediately after daybreak.

　　　（黎明後我們立刻動身。）

2.從...下來

　例："Get off the table"代表"從那張桌子上下來"

　　　（也就是"把你的屁股從那張桌子上移開"）

3.表示下火車, 電車, 腳踏車或下馬

  例：As soon as he got off the train , he went direct to the company .

　　（他剛下火車就趕往公司。）

  例：She got off her bicycle and went into the house.

       （她下了自行車, 走進那所房子。）

4.飛機起飛

  例：The aircraft hadn't enough power to get off the ground.  

        （那架飛機的動力不夠,無法起飛。）

5.（就犯罪者而言）逃脫處罰

　例：He is likely to get off with a small fine.

        （他可能會逃脫嚴懲，僅僅罰一點錢了事。）

6.對某個東西感到非常興奮

　例：Mary gets off on Jazz music. She listens to Jazz and she really starts to get down.

       （Mary非常喜歡爵士樂，她聽爵士樂然後沉醉在其中。)

Get in

1.搭交通工具

 搭比較密閉、無法走動的交通工具

（例：搭汽車“get in a car”，搭船“get in a boat”）

Get on

1.搭交通工具

  搭比較大還有地板可以走動的交通工具

（例：搭火車、飛機、或大船）

Get through

1.完成（工作）

例：I think you can get through the first two chapters.

　　（我想你能完成前兩章。）

2.（使）通過（考試、測驗等）

例：Did you have to get through an entrance examination?

　　（你必須要通過入學考試嗎？）

3.消磨, 度過（時間）

例：It is hard to see how people will get through the winter.

　　（難以想像人們將怎樣熬過這個冬天。）

4.（使法案等）被通過

例：The bill has got through Congress.

　　（這項法案已在國會獲得通過。）

5.（使）理解，（使）接受

例：The message was finally getting through to him.

　　（他終於明白了這一點。）

Get between

1.介入兩個人或兩件事之間製造問題

例：Never get between husband and wife.

　　（千萬不要挑撥夫婦關係。）

2. get between the sheet   就寢

例：I am tired after all that walking and I can't wait to get between the sheets.

　　（走了那麼遠的路我累了,我要馬上睡覺了。）

Get along

1.   離開某地

例：It ' s time we were getting along .   

　　（是我們該走的時候了。）

2.   過活

例：Many older people cannot get along on just their Social Security checks.

　　（許多老年人僅靠社會保障金無法生活。）

3.   進展

例：How did you get along in your driving test ?

　　（你的駕駛考試進展如何？）

4.   和睦相處

例：He gets along well with his boss .   

　　（他和老闆相處得很好。）

Get on with

1.與某人關係良好; 與某人和睦相處

例：They don ' t get on at all well with one another .   

　　（他們彼此極不和。）

2.(後尤接副詞或用於疑問句的how之後)取得進展

例：How ' s your son getting on with his French ?   

　　（你兒子的法語學得好嗎？）

3.繼續做某事(尤指中斷後)

例：Be quiet and get on with your work .   

　　（安靜下來, 繼續做你們的工作。）
